Product Overview
The Marto/Martespa 902 Bas Relief Suit of Armor is truly a magnificent work of art. Each part is detailed in relief to set this one apart from all others. Meticulously handcrafted using materials similar to the original historical pieces, iron and steel are hand molded and engraved, brocades imitate textiles and patterns of the period. Each piece is supplied with a solid 22" x 22" wood base and the metal is finished with an "old patina" and rust protected. This full size Spanish suit of armour of the 16th century is a replica reproduction based on the ones that belonged to Charles V and Philip II, today part of the collection of the Real Armeria in Madrid.
The armor, each piece being meticulously handcrafted in legendary Toledo Steel, has been assembled at Marto facility and stands full size 79 inches tall and weighs in at approximately 97 lbs. The 902 features an amazing Bas Relief Lion Head crest in the breastplate, surrounded in floral scrollwork patterned designs also found atop the shoulder pauldrons, and exquisitely etched floral designs on the largest part of its surface. The 902 is provided with an arabesque fabric gown, a Charles V sword with velvet wrapped handgrip, a solid wooden platform reinforced with metallic angles and Marto authenticity plate. Some general re-assembly may be required upon delivery.
