The Voice Projection Unit (VPU) clips to the front of the C50 and FM50 mask without special tools and is designed to amplify the mask wearer's voice. This is a critical capability for SWAT teams and the military. Once fitted, the VPU is securely attached and allows for weapons firing. The unit requires (2) AAA batteries - not included. The microphone is powered by the VPU. The standard FM50 or C50 mask does not come with a VPU (sold separately), but it is standard equipment for the FM53 at no additional cost.
